How to properly turn on Wake-on-LAN on a Dell Optiplex 7010

The first thing you want to do is get in to your BIOS settings. I usually push F12 for this.

The next thing you’re going to want to do is click on “Load Defaults”

You may or may not see this screen, but I always answer “Yes” anyways

At this point you want to go to “System Configuration” and then “SATA Operation”. For my images I use SATA

Then go ahead and select “Power Management” and then “Wake on LAN” and select “LAN Only”. Once you’ve completed this, go ahead and click “Exit” Let it reboot, then get back in to BIOS settings one last time.

Finally, go to “General” then “Boot Sequence” check “Onboard NIC” then turn off the machine

At this point you should see the lights on, on your NIC. If this is the case you should be good to go! Enjoy!

Take a look at my howto video as well!

Notes: I have tested this on BIOS version A13 and A14. It works great on both!
